Our Impact

At ANAM Georgia, music and the arts are our strategy; youth development is our purpose. We create accessible opportunities for children and youth to learn, grow, lead, and explore their future.

Our impact extends beyond musical skill development. Through music-centered experiences, young people strengthen academic engagement, social-emotional skills, leadership capacity, career readiness, and connections with families and community.

Youth Outcomes

Through music and arts-centered youth development, young people have opportunities to develop:

  • Confidence & self-expression
  • Focus, persistence & learning habits
  • Communication & teamwork
  • Social-emotional skills & self-regulation
  • Leadership & responsibility
  • Creativity & problem-solving
  • Positive peer and adult relationships
  • Cultural awareness & community connection

Leadership & Career Pathways

As students grow, ANAM Georgia provides opportunities to move from participant to leader.

Older youth can explore music and creative-industry pathways through:

  • Peer leadership and mentoring
  • Teaching and assisting younger students
  • Performance and event participation
  • Collaboration with professional musicians and teaching artists
  • Exposure to music and creative careers
  • Professional communication and teamwork
  • Goal-setting and career exploration
  • Hands-on experiences that build workplace-ready skills

These experiences help young people understand that the skills they develop through music—communication, creativity, discipline, collaboration, problem-solving, leadership, and perseverance—are transferable to college, careers, and community life.

Family Outcomes

Families are important partners in youth development.

Through parent orientations, family learning activities, performances, regular communication, and community events, ANAM Georgia helps families:

  • Become more engaged in their children’s learning
  • Understand the developmental value of music and the arts
  • Support positive learning and practice habits at home
  • Celebrate their children’s growth and accomplishments
  • Build relationships with other families and community members
  • Connect children with additional educational and enrichment opportunities

Evaluation

We measure more than participation—we look at how young people grow.

ANAM Georgia uses age-appropriate assessments, instructor observations, attendance and participation data, student reflections, and parent/caregiver feedback to monitor progress.

We assess growth across several areas:

Music & Arts

Musical skills, creative expression, participation and performance

Academic Engagement

Focus, literacy-related skills, memory, sequencing, problem-solving and learning habits

Social-Emotional Development

Confidence, self-regulation, persistence, relationships and teamwork

Leadership & Career Readiness

Responsibility, communication, collaboration, leadership, professionalism and career awareness

Family Engagement

Participation, communication and caregiver confidence in supporting youth development

Evaluation findings help us improve programming, strengthen instruction, demonstrate impact to funders and partners, and remain responsive to the young people and families we serve.
